Today I went back to school.
Yup universtiy decided that i was too immature and not intelligent enough to be there so sent me all the way back to Year6 - i must really be failing...and badly!
No I'm only kidding, im spending a week at a school to "observe"/help out and see whether its something i want to do.
I decided within about the first hour that i didn't want to be a primary teacher, i just dont think it what God wants me to do. I have no burning passion, not because i dont love children or working with them (cos i do!) but there are times when you just know things are wrong and you're happy with it being like that! But im not gonna leave just yet - this week will hopefully be good for my course and maybe help me decide what i want to do in my dissertation...
Today i was with P6, we di a bit of maths, and then i helped a1 danish and 1 russian girl in "writing instructions" for this program which was actually quite cool though we had some VERY interesting spelling - apparently "sipig bibil" spells "speech bubble" - i honestly looked at it and couldn't read it, i couldn't work out what she was trying to say! felt slightly bad but she didn't seem to mind(!). We also did a bit of handwriting where they had to copy out a poem in their neatest handwriting. With Maths it was so weird cos i remember doing (nearly) the same stuff as they were doing.
Then in the afternoon it was P5, where we had some gym with one class, and then helped make up actions to the song "lean on me" (when you're not strong...) and then i had to be the judge of five dances in dance; it was like the Xfactor, i has to give comments and then points out of five...and try and remember that they were bound to make mistakes cos they are only 9 years old...im too much of a perfectionist but then i hate being mean so i was generous on the points front...had some hilarious "cool" moves from the boys, i would demonstate, but this is a blog...!
And tomrrow...i think im going even lower down to P2...
