I play the harp. And i have it with me in Durham, sitting in the corner of my college room. It's not until now - it is permemantly sittting upacked in my room to remind me to practife it(!) - though that i have truely noticed or even properly appreciated what a beautiful instrument it is. Call me biased but i really think it is really beautiful.
i love the wood (it's made of mahogany), i love the inside of the harp aswell...i keep noticing things which i never noticed before! Like tonight i realised that there is a platform thing inside the harp at the bottom, it doesn't just go straight down to the bottom - ok fair enought his probably doesn't make ANY sense to anyone, but it just makes the point that the more a i look at it and admire it, the more i notice about it which i haven't noticed before.
And its just so clever! Have you ever looked up inside the harp - er, probably thats a no. The mechanisms are mental! I wouldn't know where to start if i was going to make a harp...it probably takes ages to build one. You can't ruch this kind of construction(!!).
I'll post a picture when i can. This is the website link for my harp - http://www.salviharps.it/pages/index.pl
Except my harp is mahogany and not "natural" like the picture.
ANYWAY, total random post i know, but just thought id dedicate one to my lovely Beast.
