Kid's Praise

No childhood should be complete without the totally cheesy american singing Songbook otherwise known as Psalty! He also has three children called Rhythm, Harmony and Melody. And is a TOTAL LEGEND!!

I am of course refering to the wonders of Kid's Praise. There are ten Cassette tapes in the series (i think? well at least there were when i was a child) which talk about God through the different adventures of Psalty and his children and all these other children who he is kind of "youth leader" of i suppose you would say. While i was packing before coming back to Durham for this term, i found tape number 6 - "A heart to change the world". Listening it brought back so many memories and has some great songs on it like their rendition of "For God so loved the world" - which has three different parts which all work on top of each other - this also isn't the song that you all think you know from church, it is the proper hard core cool version of John 3:16. "This little light of mine" is also a total classic of Kid's Praise 6.

Somewhere in the house we have Tapes 5-10? We never had 1 and 2, i think we let someone borrow 4 and they never returned it (gutted! esp. as it had charity churchmouse on it!) and maybe we did have 3? I can't remember. The ones i remember were one on a camping trip, one had something about cannabilism (!), one about travelling back in time and meeting Kind David (yes from the bible) john wesley and faany crosby, one about the salvation and born again-ness of Ralph and Ronda (Rhythm et al's cousins) and one about a baseball game....and then this one about the "psalty scope" and having a heart to love and change the world. And can't remember the rest!

So....drop me a comment if you also experienced the wonderfulness of Kid's Praise! Or email Psalty himself at psa28482@psalty.com (no joke!!! Check out the website!)
